What each word in Vakna means, one page per word, from the glossary.

  • Box: What users call a sandbox, in the vakna CLI and anything else they see.
  • Fork: A new box started from a snapshot of another, with the same memory and disk at that moment.
  • Lockdown: The egress posture every box starts in, where a box reaches only the hosts you allow, through Vakna's proxy.
  • Receipt: What a box or a task cost, and what the platform did to run it, line by line.
  • Snapshot: A point-in-time image of a box, its memory and its disk, that new boxes fork from.
  • Suspend: To pause a box with its processes, memory and ports intact, so compute stops billing until it resumes.
  • Task: A named group of boxes running one command, with one receipt for the lot.
